4. Company: Bacardi
Founder: Don Facundo Bacardí Massó

Facundo Bacardí Massó, started Rum producing company in 1862, which he called, by his Surname ‘Bacardi’.

Initially, after many experiments failed, Don Facundo started adding processed yeast to the rum he prepared, which gives a unique taste to it. He also started filtering the rum through charcoal so that it removed all the impurities and kept the rum in the white oak barrels, which made it very clear and thus the first white rum in the world was born.

5. Company: Colgate-Palmolive
Founder: William Colgate

William Colgate in 1806 started making and selling soaps and candles. He named this company as “William Colgate & Company".

It was in 1873, the company started producing the first toothpaste which was sold in glass jars and later in collapsible tubes.

The toothpaste was accepted all over the world in both urban and rural areas. In India it was introduced around 1930s and has been considered as the 17th most trusted brands in India by The Brand Trust Report. Colgate occupied 20 percent of its market share for toothpastes in China as of 2002.
