Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is on the ninth place, it has come a long way from its traditional healthcare system. Now the country is showing a positive shift towards restoring better health facilities for its residents. Sri Lanka has both private and public health care providers. With the Ministry of Health formulating quality services, more attention is paid towards the improvement of quality and safety of health care organizations. The National Pharmaceutical Policy has made quality drugs available at affordable prices. With numbers as less as 31 beds, 5 physicians and 19 nurses for every 10,000 persons, Sri Lanka has large area to cover in the health care regime.
Thailand
Thailand has shown significant health care development. The majority of which is provided by the public services. Thailand health schemes cover 99.5 percent of the population with the health protection coverage, as per World Bank. Some of the private hospitals also contribute to the government programs. However they are run by the private funding of the patients and through the private insurance companies. With 22 beds, 3 physicians and 15 nurses per 10,000 persons Thailand has to take more effective steps on medical services in order to improve on the development scale.
