Bangalore: INSEAD, HBR (Harvard Business Review) and ‘Business Today’ has enlisted the top 10 performing CEOs of India. The CEO aka Chief Executive Officer is the highest rank in the administrative level of an organization. He is the decision maker, the leader and the manager of the company and is highly responsible for the rise and fall of the success graph of a company.  The study has revealed that 60 percent of these Indian CEOs don’t have an MBA degree. Then what has made them exhibit themselves so well in business?

1. Naveen Jindal:

Born on 9th March, 1970, Jindal is the CEO and Managing Director of Jindal Steel and Power Limited. He is also a politician and Member of Parliament from the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency of Haryana. Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) is a division of Jindal Group Conglomerate, based in New Delhi, founded by the industrialist-philanthropist-politician O. P. Jindal.

Naveen did his graduation at Delhi, and further pursued MBA in University of Texas at Dellas.

He is termed as the country’s best CEO by INSEAD. Prof. Bala Vissa, INSEAD’s associate professor of entrepreneurship says the turnaround of a sponge iron mill using deals that managed cheap access to valuable raw materials at a time when the industry was not bothered about such little issues became the main reason which pushed him towards success of being number one as a CEO. According to Vissa, “this strategy protected JSPL from price volatility in commodity markets thus bringing down production costs and boosting profitability. Between 1998 and 2011, Jindal’s total shareholders return of 13,784 percent had increased JSPL’s market capitalization by about 12.1 billion dollars. He says, “We have no aspirations to be number one. It's more important to be profitable and efficient than big''.
