Bangalore: Are you searching for a chic and classy place to spend time with your beloved? If yes, then look no further than your own motherland. India is brimming with a hybrid cultural milieu, which is fragrant of both Indian and western cultures. Our country has aplenty of attractive and trendy places, which are apt for both Indians as well our foreign guests. Nupur Amarnath of the Economic Times Bureau has concocted a special list of Indian centers, which have emerged as happening hubs of the country. These hubs are the products of the inter-mingling of Indian and western cultures. Amarnath has rated these hubs on a scale of 10 and the list goes in descending order. The ratings are calculated on freshness, night-life, inter-mingling of cultures, dining out, convenience, money spent and couple-coziness. Shopping is not taken as a criterion to judge as these places are meant mostly for couples. Shopping is, however, still a buzz in these places. So, go ahead and read on about some known and some new fun centres of the country.

1) Hauz Khas Village (New Delhi) –

Hauz Khas Village or HKV, as it is popularly called, in New Delhi ranks top on this trendy city hubs list. It gets an 8/10 stars on the Trendometer. HKV is popular among people, especially the youth, as this is the Indian equivalent of East Village in New York. HKV has a Bohemian touch to it but it fits very well with the shops there. Couples can wear their comfiest of clothes and not feel out of place in HKV as grunge and hippie cultures are embraced here. This place is brimming with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. HKV reflects the true heart of Delhi in all spheres, namely – food, clothes and fun. Prices of the items available here are not so reasonable though. Plus, do keep your walking shoes on as the roads here will tax you. A few happening shops at HKV include – Amour, The Living Room, Gunpowder, La Boheme, ArtKonsult and Khazana India. HKV faces competition from Qutub Colonnade and Shahpur Jat of Delhi. Still, HKV is a good deal for couples who wish to spend about 2,000 for an evening of good time.
