App Annie, the company that tracks your apps' metrics and has the best app store data has come up with its report. The report released last month says, “From Q4 2012 to Q1 2013, iOS App Store quarterly revenue grew by roughly one-quarter. Meanwhile, Google Play app revenue grew by roughly 90 percent. While Google Play had the higher growth rate, the iOS App Store gained more in absolute revenue and earned about 2.6 times that of Google Play in Q1.”

Six months ago, Google Play was making a fourth of the revenue as Apple’s iOS App Store. Now? After a 25 percent boost over last quarter, it’s nearly cut that figure in half, and is just about neck-and-neck on downloads.
