Steve Ballmer the current CEO of the software giant, Microsoft, is known for his energetic and exuberant persona, which is meant to motivate employees and partners. His flamboyant stage appearances at Microsoft events are widely circulated on the Internet as viral videos. In such an high voltage event at a Net York conference in 2009, Ballmer criticized Apple’s prizing with the above quote.

#7 "Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible." –Lord Kelvin, President of the Royal Society in 1895   

Lord Kelvin was a Scottish mathematician and physicist who contributed to many branches of physics. He was known for his self-confidence and high pride. Though by 1895, there were hot air balloon flights and Wright Brothers controllable airplane experiments were in progress, Kelvin gave a statement, "heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible" pointing at Australian Institute of Physics, which involved in some kind if flight experiment, followed by his 1896 statement, "I have not the smallest molecule of faith in aerial navigation other than ballooning, I would not care to be a member of the Aeronautical Society."
