Grolsch

Established In: 1615

Grolsch brewery was founded by Willem Neerfeldt in the town of Groenlo in 1615. Grolsch is currently the 21st largest producer of beer in the world. According to a 2006 report, it was the 2nd largest producer of beer in Netherlands contributing to the market 3.2 million hectoliters of beer per year. Its most prominent product is the premium beer Lager. For the first two centuries of its existence, Grolsch brewery was run by the relatives of Willem Neerfeldt. Currently it’s part of the SABMiller group.

Haig

Established In: 1627

John Haig is considered as the founder of Haig, though his family was into the distillation business a long time before he set up the distillery. Their dimpled whisky bottle which was introduced in the 1890s became hugely popular and later got registered as a trademark. In one of their advertising campaigns, they used the now famous line-don’t be vague, ask for Haig, which is listed among one of the world’s leading advertising slogans.
