10 Must Follow Rules For Emailing Busy People

9. Follow Up but Don’t Harass

You have sent a mail long back but have not received any reply yet, what should you do in such situations? The solution is to send a follow up mail, but make sure you do not irritate the person. Do not send a follow-up mail 7 days a week. Send the first one and wait for few days so that the receiver gets time to reply to your mail.

10. The Presumptive Downbeat

If you haven’t herd of any thing instead of sending a follow-up mail and the reply is very important, you can send the more advanced mail designed to elicit a response. Few examples which are often used are “I assume this isn’t a fit since I didn’t hear back from you, but just wanted to make sure…” or “it seems like First Round doesn’t want to invest in my company…”, increasing the chances for the recipients to reply.
