The Dark Knight (2008)
Dark, complex and unforgettable. The Dark Knight succeeded not just as a comic book but also as an exciting crime saga. Directed produced and co-written by Christopher Nolan, the film with over with over $1 billion in revenue worldwide, is the eighth highest-grossing film of all time. The film received eight Academy Award nominations and won for Best Sound Editing and Best Supporting Actor for Ledger's performance. The movie however lost to Slumdog Millionaire, a highly overrated story of a Mumbai teen who grew up in the slums, becomes a contender on the Indian version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" He is detained under suspicion of being deceitful, and while being questioned, events from his life are revealed which explain why he knows the answers.
