The Kolkata based entrepreneur Navin Saraf grew up with raw jute, twines and yarns. He already had in his family and he was focused what he want to do. After joining the family business, Navin started to import raw jute from Bangladesh to make traditional goods such as yarn and sacks for the local market.

Later the company started to manufacture fabric at Howrah, near Kolkata. Today, SL Packaging exports eco-friendly shopping bags and burlap bags to the United States, Europe, Central Asia and Africa.

 In 2011/12 the company has sales of 42.3 Crore and a net profit of 7 lakh.

A simple agriculture warehousing company that was commenced just with a mere capital of 5 lakh, today has a turnover of around 100 crore.
