6. Saul Aaron Kripke:

Born on 13th November, 1940, this American philosopher and logician, was labeled as prodigy, who learnt ancient Hebrew by the age of six; read complete works of Shakespeare by nine. He mastered Descartes and complex mathematical problems before graduating elementary school. He wrote papers on theorem in ‘modal logic’ at the age of 17. This earned him a letter from the math department of Harvard, which hoped he would apply for a job until he wrote back and declined, explaining, “My mother said that I should finish high school and go to college first”. After finishing high school, college he eventually chose Harvard and completed his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from there.

He has received many honorary degrees from many universities. He has been a vital image in the fields of mathematical logic, philosophy of mathematics, epistemology and set theory. He was the recipient of 2001 “Schock Prize” in logic and philosophy. He is one of the most important philosophers in the past 200 years.
