Maya Polsky filed a divorce petition in 2003 and wanted to split the relationship. The couple, which married in 1975 in Ukraine, moved to the United States in 1976 with very little asset and only $500 in cash. Polsky struggled and earned his fortune by starting various energy companies like SkyGen Energy and also Invenergy which made him worth more than $368 million in cash and also lots of assets prior to the divorce. The divorce was settled with $184 million which he had to pay to his wife, almost half his fortune.
