Stelvio Pass – Italy

One of the most spectacularly serpentine roads that ascend and descend down the Alp mountains is Italy’s Stelvio Pass, which has 60 hairpin turns and reaches elevations of more than 9,000 feet. The first road here was built in the 1820s, and the layout has changed little in the past two centuries. The Stelvio Pass Road connects the Valtellina with Merano and the upper Adige valley. It's one the most beautiful, but certainly one of the highest (official the third highest in the Alps at 2757M) and most dramatic mountain passes to drive in the European Alps. It is a truly stunning road and the wall of 48 switchback turns are a sight to behold, and worth the drive.

Col de Turini – France

The Col de Turini simply is a stunning mountain pass between La Bollène-Vésubie and Moulinet in the south-east of France in the Alps at more than 1 mile above sea level, roughly 30 miles away from Monaco. This stretch of road is a regular stage fixture of the annual Monte Carlo round of the World Rally Championship. And all the James Bond buffs  need no explanation that Pierce Brosnan’s 007 scorched down this road in an Aston Martin DB5 for a scene in ‘GoldenEye’.
