Marissa Mayer has recently been appointed as the president and CEO of Yahoo. She was the first female engineer at Google and gained a lot of admiration for her work. Her popularity at Google was at par with the Google’s co founders. She contributed for over a hundred features in the world’s largest search engine from the basic plain white layout to the incorporation of more than 100 languages. She was the company’s 20th employee and she matured along with the growth of the company, showing the world that being the founder or the owner of a company is not the only way.

President and CEO, Hewlett-Packard

In 1980s, Meg Whitman was the vice president of strategic planning in The Walt Disney Company. Later she also worked at DreamWorks, Procter & Gamble, and Hasbro. In 1998 Meg Whitman was appointed as the president and chief executive officer at eBay and continued to work there till 2008. During this time she managed to expand the company from a small staff of 30 employees to more than 15,000 employees. EBay’s success brought Meg Whitman into limelight. She made alterations and rearranged different departments, allocated executives in each department and took care of the entire management. After joining Hewlett-Packard, she is now working to bring the company back on its feet.
