Biju Parekkadan
Biju graduated from the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. He then got himself dedicated to the lab, moving on to make considerable progress within a short span of just a few years. He began his work on a therapy called mesenchymal stem cells, which is based on a certain type of bone marrow stem cell, which can help physicians in their treatment of those patients with acute kidney failure.
“I thought that a singular focus [on research] would be more important,” Parekkadan said. “I came back from India, graduated, and said, ‘It’s time to take this to the next level.’ ” as reported by the Harvard.edu.com.
He now serves as the assistant professor for surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and the Harvard Medical School. He also served at the Shriners Hospital for Children as a staff scientist.
