5. Nikki Haley
Nikki Haley was accused of illegally lobbying for her employers Wilbur Smith Associates and Lexington Medical Center when she was serving in the legislature as a hospital fundraiser. John Rainey, a Republican activist was behind the claims and he also insulted Haley’s family passing comments such as she was related to terrorists.
It was the first time the South Carolina House Ethics Committee investigated on a sitting governor, but Haley was cleared of any wrongdoing by the committee.
