Actor, musician, comedian, writer, director and producer Eddie married actress and producer Tracey on 1st January 2008, at a private island off Bora Bora. This nuptial was not legal as they had not registered it. They told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement that, “After much Consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends”. But this was not the scene within few days. Their split apparently involves some name-calling. Eddie was particularly insisting that Tracey should change her last name into Murphy, which became a huge issue and finally within 14 days they called it a off.
