The first lady of U.S., wife of President Barrack Obama, garnered more than 200,000 followers in the first day of her joining twitter.
Throughout 2007 and 2008, she helped campaign for her husband's presidential bid. She delivered a keynote address at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and also spoke at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
As for recent AFP report, Michelle Obama's office said it had opened a Twitter account on occasion of her 49th birthday.
The account is @FLOTUS, which stands for First Lady of the United States, and it will be administered by the first lady's staff. Tweets penned Michelle will bear her initials -- mo.
@MichelleObama, which opened in January 2012 that was run by President Barack Obama's re-election campaign team have been infrequent since her husband won the election.
The first tweet on Thursday from @FLOTUS urged followers to wish Mrs Obama a happy birthday.
