10 Brands That May Disappear in 2014
Nook
e-reader is a fading fashion now and more so for Barnes and Noble’ Nook that faced competition from the time of its launch. It came into market in 2009 after the current leader Amazon.com’s Kindle was released. The Nook segment that includes both e-reader and online books has seen a decline in sales of about 26 percent within the year 2012-2013. There is a huge difference in the size of readers between Barnes and Noble and its tough competitor Amazon. Amazon has about 130 million visitors while merely 6 million readers visit the Barnes and Noble.
J.C.Penney
J.C.Penney has been full of uncertainty and while few believe that it will be able to make a successful comeback, many others are sceptical about its revival. It has seen unprecedented sales losses in recent years and is against giant competitors like Walmart, Target and department stores like Macy’s. The company has a bleak future with its current revenue falling to $12.985 billion and Internet sales seeing a plunge of 33 percent from previous year.
