Born as A S Dileep Kumar on January 6, 1967 in Chennai, he later converted to Islam and changed his name to Allah Rakha Rahman.

The glories of Rahman are untouched and have inspired thousands of young musicians across the globe. He is the first Indian Music Director to win the Oscar award.

The sudden loss of his father at an early age compelled him to join Illaiyaraja's troupe. He was only 11 at that time.

He dropped school after joining Illaiyaraja's troupe. He made his music debut in the Indian Film Industry by Mani Ratnam’s ‘Roja’ (1992).

His composed his first original score for the film ‘Rangeela’. Rangeela brought him to the limelight and thereafter, he has been delivering hits after hits. He has changed the music taste of the entire nation. Almost all the actors in the Indian Film Industry have tapped foot on his tunes. He is one of the musical icons, who represent the Indian music.
