This masterpiece was once owned by Queen Marie Jose. Infact, she was well known for having a unique collection of jewels, which also includes her diamond necklace.

This interesting neckpiece is made up of 50 emeralds and several diamonds. It was created by Van Cleef and Arpels.

3. Empress Eugenie brooch

Eugenie, the wife of Napoleon III created this historic diamond piece. It was designed by François Kramer who was a Persian, in 1855. The princess of France, Eugenie asked it to be designed as buckle for her diamond belt but later she asked the designer to make it more elaborate and add five diamond pampilles and a pair of diamond tassels. This masterpiece by Kramer has been a part of French collection since 1887.

In 2008, it was purchased for $10.5 million by an anonymous buyer in Christie's New York.
