Chairman and managing director of Suzlon Energy, Tulsi Tanti was the owner of a $1 billion wind power based company. When some of the blades provided by Suzlon Energy to American customers were charged with quality issues, the company faced a whirlwind and submerged in a debt of $2.8 billion. Although the company is recovering now, its current worth is only about 500 million dollars. 

3. David Peter John Ross

David Ross, co-founder of The Carphone Warehouse is a well-known English businessman with a net worth of £710 million in 2013. In 2006, Ross started Kandahar Real Estate and injected his private property portfolio worth £243 million. But in 2008, the property market crashed which was followed by Lloyds Bank taking over Kandahar’s property assets and selling them off to clear Ross’s debt.
