10 Tallest Cricketers In The History Of Cricket

Joel Garner: The big man from Barbados was just about the perfect fast bowler. Garner with a height of 6′ 8″ (203cm), was a nippy and pacy bowler who ruled the roost during seventies and the eighties. He was well known for Yorker deliveries, which use to spear into the batsman's feet from his long bowling arm. Quite often his hand would be above the side screen too, just to make it even more difficult for the batsman. Garner career best came when he polished off England in the 1979 World Cup final, and ended his career with 146 ODI wickets at a tremendous average of 18.84 and an even better economy rate of 3.09 runs per over. In tests, Garner has taken 259 wickets.

Bruce Reid: Bruce Reid was a tall, left-arm pace bowler who made his debut in 1985-86. This was the time when the Australia team was not at their best. Reid had the ability to straighten the ball in to the right-hander as well as slant it away, and with this natural stint he could even get steep bounce from any given surface. Reid immediately became Australia's main spear head.

His topmost achievement was when he took 13 wickets against England at Melbourne in 1990-91. But his lanky figure did not support for fast bowling. Reid sustained many injuries, and despite taking rehabilitation programmes his several comebacks he played his last test only a year later. But his records and achievements for the game of cricket still remains impressive.
