Marcus Goldman made it to the U.S. in 1848 from Frankfurt am Main, Germany. In the U.S., Goldman started working as a peddler and later, he became a shopkeeper. Over the years, he transformed himself into one of the greatest investment bankers of the world with his banking firm, ‘Goldman Sachs’.

Goldman founded ‘Goldman Sachs in New York in the year 1869. Since its foundation, it has been known as one of the most popular investment banking firms in the U.S. and its influence started spreading across the globe. Goldman is still considered as one of the legends in establishing initial public offering (IPO).
