First Job: Daily wage laborer

Financial problem of Jyothi Reddy’s family forced her to get married at a very tender age of sixteen and she became the mother of two girls at eighteen. To fulfill the basic requirements of her family Jyothi started working as a daily wage agricultural laborer at per day 5 from 1986 to 1989. The night school started by Nehru Yuvak Kendra (NYK) to provide free education to the villagers turned out to be a turning point in her life. She was the one and only educated person in the village then and NYK hired her as a trainee at 150 per month. Jyothi suddenly felt an uncontrollable passion for education and then there was no looking back for her. Today Jyothi Reddy is a successful entrepreneur and her honesty and hard work is truly inspiring.

3. Sara Rotman

First Job: Life Guard

Sara Rotman had a short-term job in NY where she first started working as a life guard in NY Racquet Club. The place was a combination of people from different culture. Sara worked there for six weeks until she joined a job at a design studio. Sara said, “I still get the willies in indoor pool situations. That experience certainly helped me learn how to hold my composure and it also was my first lesson in navigating professional relationships with vastly different cultures. In both cases, it forced me to learn patience and to take a deep breath and remind myself that everyone is coming to the table with a different experience and point of view” as quoted by Business Insider.
