Bangalore: Peekamo, a Canada based digital communications company, has recently launched a service in India which enables users to send and receive multiple text messages on their cell phones at the cost of a single message. The company claims that this is the only such service in India that enables users to send and receive text messages through their mobile phones without having to log on to the internet or any other network.
By adding a social network feature to this service, Peekamo is broadening the scope of communication options that their members can utilize. Users of Peekamo can create an account at www.peekamo.com, to avail the service apart from enjoying other benefits.
Peekamo will place an 'Independence Day' and 'Raksha Bandhan' widget on the home page of every user who logs in. The widgets will allow users to add up to 20 of their friends / their phone numbers and send one of eight predetermined English and three predetermined Hindi English messages.
Commenting on the occasion Al Sajoo, CEO, Peekamo said, "Whether you want to spread the patriotic fervor across the globe or share the affection that you feel for your distance-separated sibling, Peekamo ensures you pass on the message and make each and every occasion special."
Peekamo had also launched a similar initiative for its users on Friendship Day which had received a rousing response worldwide and the company hopes to recreate the same with this customized offering for its Indian users.
