BANGALORE: India’s third largest software exporter Wipro Technologies has opened a Global Command Center (GCC), a hub for its remote infrastructure management services (IMS) in Bangalore. The company has invested over $5.11 million in GCC. The center will provide customers a secured managed services environment, Suresh Vaswani, President, Wipro Infotech said. “The GCC has been designed specifically to address some of the key issues such as security challenges that clients face when they outsource remote infrastructure management,” said Vaswani, who also heads Wipro's Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) and Testing. “It ensures multi-location service delivery for robust risk mitigation, enabling clients to see live business impact of IT services on 24x7 basis,” he added. According to a Nasscom study, the market for infrastructure services through global delivery was in excess of $55 billion, while the services out of India were worth $1 billion. Of this, $450 million came from outsourcing partners such as Wipro, while the rest came from the captive facilities of multinationals. The company’s exports from infrastructure management services stood at $95 million in FY 05 and were growing 68-70 percent annually, he added.
