MUMBAI: Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) launched ReadyAccess Business Messaging & Collaboration Services yesterday in alliance with Microsoft, thus marking the first joint market development initiative of its kind for Microsoft India. Targeted toward the rapidly growing SME market in India, this service provides enterprise grade messaging capabilities on a pay per use basis. VSNL's VP Managed Services, Abid Qadiri noted that messaging is the most critical and widely used business application across all customer segments, and that enterprises are facing the increasing challenges of maintaining consistent service levels, reducing costs of ownership, managing stringent compliance requirements and the pressures of consolidation and optimization of their infrastructure as well as their resources. "VSNL is pleased to be the first global provider to associate with Microsoft to bring this essential service to the emerging SME market in India. ReadyAccess delivers an SLA driven, efficient and professional grade business messaging service," he noted. Jacques Bablon, Partner Director, Communication Sector, APAC Region, Microsoft said, "This alliance enables us to bring Microsoft's best-of-breed messaging platform to businesses throughout the world, and more so the SME segment, which is expected to drive the next wave of IT adoption." ReadyAccess also offers message security and hygiene with an enterprise grade Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus solution, as well as on demand storage services. In India, the service will be offered by the Tata Indicom Enterprise Business Unit (TIEBU) sales force, the enterprise business division of VSNL, which already serves more than 5000 large and mid-market enterprise customers in India. It will also be offered globally through VSNL International, the international arm of VSNL as well as by its more than 170 channel partners across all regions and vertical industries of India. VSNL will serve SMEs pan-India, pan-Asia, in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. VSNL will also be offering Adaptive Messaging, a fully managed end-to-end solution which is targeted at global MNCs and larger enterprises seeking an out-tasked messaging and collaboration service with full operations and management support, thus allowing them to focus on their business growth and core competencies and reducing cost of ownership.
