Bangalore: The 1989 founded VLSI Society, the organizers of India's platform for the VLSI and embedded segments, will be holding an EDA software contest across India, which will debut at the 22nd international conference on VLSI design and embedded systems. The contest will enable individuals and teams to showcase their skills and innovative ideas in the EDA arena and the winners will be awarded with prize money of 10, 000 and a certificate. Their names will be carried across all the official communication on the VLSI Conference besides being featured on the conference website. In the contest the contestants can have innovative software in the line of planning, design, verification and analysis of analogue, digital, or programmable circuits and systems. "EDA is a critical cog in the semiconductor ecosystem and India is already a major hub for most of the development and R&D work in this area. In the current context where there is immense pressure on costs, innovation is the best approach and we have conceptualised this contest as a catalyst to enable that. We welcome all the talented engineers across India working in the sector to put on their thinking caps and come up with newer ideas that will lead further change in this segment. The choice of 22nd International conference on VLSI design and embedded systems is apt since it is the largest congregation of professionals and academia encompassing the entire industry and the winners will get ample opportunity and the right audience to showcase their innovation," said D Agrawal, Chairman, VLSI Conference steering committee and Convenor for the contest.
