Startup Saturday to hold special meet on 13 Sep; Crash courses for entrepreneurs

Bangalore: Startup Saturday, a forum for budding entrepreneurs, has announced a special meet on 13 September 2008 at IIM Banaglore. It plans to organize conduct a set of crash courses for entrepreneurs where talks will be delivered by experienced practitioners. The seventh edition of Barcamp BCB7, is also being held at the same venue; hence a large crowd of at least 100-150 is expected.
While the SS sessions will be in the main audi of IIMB, Barcamp will happen in various rooms at IIMB.
Following is the agenda for the Special Startup Saturday meet.
1. Managing new products and innovation - applying innovation to new products and generating product roadmaps, involving customers in evolving go-to-market strategies; managing innovation within organisations; securing innovation
Speaker: Dr Vishy Poosala Head and Executive director, Bell Labs India
2. Funding, Valuation and Exits - raising capital, considerations, valuation techniques, capitalization and structuring, financial models, exit strategy
Speaker: Ganesh Rengaswamy of Indavest Ventures/ex-Greylock and co-founder, TravelGuru
3 Product marketing and go-to-market strategies - consumer behavior, segmentation and targeting; positioning and business models; pricing strategy; distribution and scaling strategies
Speaker: Rakesh Godhwani, IIMB Alumni Head, ex-Qualcomm and Intel product manager
4. Sales management - purchasing processes, lead management and tracking, sales organisation and processes, negotiation and etiquettes
Speaker: Venkatramana Gosavi, Associate Vice President, Africa and Middle East, Finacle, Infosys
5. Processes and Statutory compliances - budgeting and accounting processes, cash and credit management, payroll, taxes and statutory laws (companies, local, employee, export/import, FEMA)
