Mumbai: Satyam Computer Services is planning to increase its headcount. The company will add around 3,000 employees by the end of March, said S V Krishnan, Human Resources Head. "Our target for gross addition for 2007-08 (April-March) was 17,000. However, we have already crossed that level and plan to add 3,000 more employees by March-end," Krishnan said. Most of the employees who are going to be hired are likely to be required of three to four years of average experience, he said. The company, with a headcount of 50,000, is likely to have a gross employee addition of 19,000 for the year 2007-08. Krishnan expects the industry's average wage hike in 2008-09 to be moderate as against 13 to 14 percent hike witnessed in 2007-08. He attributed this moderation in wage hike to inflation, which according to him is at the lowest level. India's fourth-largest software exporter will hike wages in June. In 2007-08, average increment for Satyam Computer employees was 15-16 per cent.
