Sasken Q3 net profit increased 38 percent

Bangalore: Sasken Communications has posted a revenue of Rs 185.1 crore for the third quarter which ended December 31, 2008, up five percent sequentially over the previous quarter and up 31 percent YoY from Q3 FY 08.
Profit after tax stood at Rs 14.4 crore at a quarterly growth of 38 percent and yearly growth of 272 percent. The PAT margins were at 7.8 percent. The consolidated EBIDTA for Q3 FY 09 was at
42.1 crore, up 2 percent sequentially over the previous quarter and up 164 percent YoY from Q3 FY 08.
Revenues from software services for Q3 FY 09 stood at
173.2 crore, up 11 percent sequentially over the previous quarter and up by 32 percent YoY from Q3 FY 08. Products group revenues for Q3 FY 09 at
11.7 crore, down 44 percent sequentially over the previous quarter and up by 23 percent YoY from Q3 FY 08.
Top five customers accounted for 70.6 percent of the revenues while the top 10 contributed to 84.1 percent. The company added 4 new customers during the quarter taking the total of active customers to 99.
The company also informed that Vinod Dham has resigned from the board effective January 17, 2009. Vinod Dham had recently resigned from the board of scam-hit Satyam as well.
Rajiv Mody, CEO Sasken, said, "We believe we have done well in the quarter given the extremely challenging environment. Our operating margins for the services business expanded by 210 basis points. We are confident that our two pronged strategy of ensuring operational efficiencies and growth will pay dividends in the long run."
