N. R. Narayana Murthy, chairman of Infosys Technologies Ltd, on Thursday said that he did not rule out the return of its director Phaneesh Murthy, who is facing a sexual harassment suit, to the company.

BANGALORE: "The company is working on an out-of-court settlement. And we are not closing any options of his return. But first let the case be over," Narayana Murthy told newspersons on the sidelines of CII-organised Leadership Summit. He said that proceedings for out-of-court settlement of the case was going on. Phaneesh Murthy, also the Head of Sales and Marketing and Communication and Product Services (CAPS), had resigned in July after a lawsuit was filed against him and Infosys by an employee for ''wrongful termination and sexual harassment''. Last month Infosys had initiated moves for out-of-court settlement of the law suit. Phaneesh Murthy, touted to be the highest-paid employee in Infosys, was the key person in getting a good visibility for the company in the U.S by driving its sales successfully. He drew an annual gross salary of Rs 1.91 crore as on March 31, 2002, say news agences.
