Mumbai: In a bid to expand its reach to the new and emerging markets, Nielsen Online, an online audience measurement firm, has launched its services in India. "Our services are under trial right now by some clients and it would be ready with its first report and service offering in the next 3-4 months," Mark Ottaway, Vice President, Regional services, Asia-Pacific, Nielsen Online told Business Standard.
The online firm has appointed Karthik Nagarajan, Associate Director, client solutions IT practice, The Nielsen Company, to head the online venture in India. The company expects the Indian market to be at par with other advanced markets in terms of growth and internet usage, in the next 4-5 years. The company will launch two of its services AdRelevance and Market Intelligence, to track the online activities ranging from advertising, industry trends to audience measurement reports.
Justifying the time of launch the company attempts to target the advertisers who scouts for authentic third part numbers, in a time when they are examining every dollar spent on advertising. Ottaway also pinpoints that the economic circumstances are affecting all sectors, but the actual impact on internet usage and spend are yet to be seen.
