N. Chandrasekaran to replace TCS CEO Ramadorai

Mumbai: India's largest IT exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will soon have a new name to its top most position as the present Chief Executive Officer S Ramadorai is stepping down from the post. The company's Executive Director N. Chandrasekaran will replace him, reported The Times of India. As per the company's retirement policy, Ramadorai will relinquish executive power as he turns 65 in October. However, he will be redesignated as Vice- Chairman for the next ten years and will continue to associate with TCS in a non-executive capacity. Earlier, Tata group had increased the retirement age for non-executive directors from 70 to 75 years. Chandrasekaran was appointed as COO of TCS 16 months ago and got promoted as Executive Director of the company's board. The academic and career background of both Chandrasekaran and Ramadorai look similar. Both began as software engineers and started career in TCS. Moreover, Tata Motors, automobile arm of Tata group, will see the change of its CEO as Ravi Kant, the current CEO is set to retire in June. B Muthuraman, Managing Director of Tata Steel will also be stepping down in some months.
