HYDERABAD : Rao V Remala, the first Indian employee on the rolls of the software giant Microsoft and the company's 39th employee, has decided to call it a day. After a 22-year stint at Microsoft, Remala will leave the company on March 21, reports Economic Times.
"After 22+ years, I am leaving (or retiring from) Microsoft. This was not an easy decision, nor a snap decision. It is one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make in my life," Remala said.
Remala joined Microsoft in 1981 after working at DCM, Computer R&D Centre and then at Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL).
Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Remala did his masters degree in computer science from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and a bachelor's degree from REC Warangal with highest honours in the engineering programme.
