LG stresses on convergent media

Seol: Realizing the growing market of convergent media, LG Electronics, one of the major providers of electronic, information and communication products is looking to combine its personal computer business with its mobile phone hand set operations. In a company statement, LG said that its mobile communication division will absorb its PC business; it also mentioned that there would not be any job cuts. According to a LG spokesman handsets are increasingly taking the place of computers for surfing of the Internet and as tools to use other services on the move. "The combination of two sections is to meet the new trend of convergence." he added.
