India to be a global leader in automobile industry

New Delhi: Innovations in the automobile industry has made it obvious for India to lead the sector in the global front. "It is abundantly clear that the Indian automotive industry will arrive as a leader on the global automotive stage by 2020," says IBM, in its study Automotive 2020: Clarity Beyond the Chaos.
125 executives in 15 countries from a broad representation of automotive OEMs, suppliers and influential third parties were interviewed for the study. It revealed that India will continue to control over the global automotive landscape and the country will cast an everlasting shadow on the redistribution of work. Moreover, the enthusiastic young technical minds of India are highlighted to be the primary drivers of this redistribution. The innovative skills showcased by Tata in bringing about the cheapest version of a four wheeler Nano, has strengthen the position of the country in the global upfront. Sanjay Rishi VP, IBM's automotive industry also says, "India will play a significant role in rebalancing of core product development such as application development."
Emerging nations, such as Brazil, Russia, India and China, accounted for 27 percent of the interviews.
