Bangalore: Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi (NYSE: HIT) and the provider of services oriented storage solutions, has announced it has been positioned by Gartner in the 'Leaders' quadrant in the 'Magic Quadrant for Midrange Enterprise Disk Arrays.'
According to Gartner, vendors positioned in the 'Leaders' quadrant have "the market share, credibility, and marketing and sales capabilities needed to drive the acceptance of new technologies."
Hitachi Data Systems' midrange storage line-up offers industry-leading performance and value. It delivers many enterprise-class storage services such as RAID-6, Logical Cache Partitioning, Host Storage Domains, Virtual Ports, Power Savings Storage and Role-Based Security Access. Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage and Workgroup Modular Storage lines (models AMS1000, AMS500, AMS200, and WMS100) deliver multi-protocol connectivity throughout the entire midrange product portfolio.
"By continuing to extend Hitachi's innovative high-end storage services to our line-up of midrange storage products, we are giving our customers unparalleled value such as greater flexibility, cost containment and the scalable performance required for critical data and applications. We are pleased to be recognized by Gartner in the leaders quadrant," said Brenda Peffer, Vice President, Global Marketing, Hitachi Data Systems.
As an integral component to Hitachi's services oriented storage solutions strategy, the Hitachi AMS and WMS midrange storage systems complement the Universal Storage Platform V and the Hitachi Universal Storage Platform VM as tiered or archive storage, especially when configured with SATA disk for lower costs.
