Green laptop charger to reduce power consumption

Bangalore: The laptop charger goes green with automatic shutoff that reduces vampire power. Igo, a developer of multi-device chargers for laptop computers and mobile electronic devices has introduced the green charger, which is said to lessen 80 percent of power consumption.
Unlike other chargers, the device is able to detect if the notebook no longer requires a source of power. After turning off the laptop, it will automatically shut itself off. Thus, it will restrain on further consumption of power out of the wall (vampire power) even though the notebook no longer requires it. Designed with the iGo green technology, the charger is introduced at the consumer technology tradeshow, International CES 2009.
