Govt. to prefer states without IT for more IITs

Amethi: States lacking the IT institutes stands as the top priority in the government's list of places where 20 IITs shall be established. Murlidhar Tewari, Vice President Information Technology Development Committee said, "Preference would be given to states where there are no IIITs till now." A crucial meeting will be held at New Delhi on 9th September for the development of the ionformation technology department. It will be the rural areas which will be targeted the most. The situation in villages could be changed with more access to IT. Besides, it can also help to a large extent in improving agriculture produce and health standards, Tiwari, added.
