Palo Alto: Gunjan Sinha, the Chairman of Siliconindia.com, will be a featured speaker at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2009. BFA, which will be graced by the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, is a forum for leaders in government, business and academia in Asia and other countries.
Sinha, who is also the Chairman of Metricstream, a Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) and Quality Management solution provider, will join a remarkable line-up of distinguished business leaders. Some of the business leaders include Michael Treschow, Chairman, Ericsson Group, Lord Leon Brittan, Vice Chairman, UBS Investment Bank, James Quigley, CEO of Deloitte, John Chambers, Chairman and CEO, Cisco Systems and Gerry Grimstone, Chairman, Standard Life. Some of the most prominent figures in global politics, who would be a part of the event include Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan , Matti Vanhanen, Prime Minister of Finland, John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand, Fidel V. This ninth BFA Annual Conference 2009 will be held between April 17th and 19th in the town of Boao, Hainan Province, China. Speaking on the topic 'SME Strategies: Attracting Talent, Securing Financing and Achieving Growth', Sinha will be exploring how, even in down times, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) demonstrate a remarkable ability to innovate and demonstrate an incredible resilience and potential to generate new jobs. He will share his experience from building several companies from start-up stage to successful acquisitions and public stock listings to illustrate how to overcome difficulty in attracting talent, how to secure capital and how companies can weather the recession through innovative strategies. Joining him, along with other distinguished panelists, will be James H. Quigley, CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Sinha has recently spoken at the Fourth Annual Global China Business Meeting of Horasis held in Barcelona, Spain. He was also recognized as one of the 'Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award' winners by the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC).
The BFA, a non-government, non-profit international organization, initiated in 1998 by Fidel V. Ramos, former President of the Philippines, Bob Hawke, former Prime Minister of Australia and Morihiro Hosokawa, former Prime Minister of Japan, was formally inaugurated in February 2001. The forum is committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals. Illustrating the principles of the World Economic Forum, BFA provides an opportunity for global thought leaders to share their vision on the most pressing issues in Asian economies and the world at large.
