Bangalore: The biz buzz begins, as the 11th edition of the mega IT event BangaloreIT.biz kicks off. With a prime focus on 'IT for B2B', the 3-day event at Palace Grounds will create a platform for the industry to network and an opportunity for the ICT fraternity to update themselves on the trends and the future roadmaps of the industry.
To be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Karnataka, B.S.Yeddyurappa, IT.Biz has roped in Mexico as the partner country and Gujarat as the partner state. A fifty member delegation from Mexico, including the Minister of Economy, government officials and industry representatives and a similar delegation from Gujarat will take-part in BangaloreIT.biz 2008. Even Delegations from other countries like Germany, Japan, Bavaria, Denmark and UK will be participating in the event.
Moreover, it will also witness the participation of more than 100 companies with confirmed participation from global companies like Infosys, Wipro, Microsoft, Cisco, Intel, AMD, Siemens, Nokia, BSNL, Airtel, HP, IBM, Dell, Oracle, Texas Instruments, TCS, Supervalue, of which TCS is a significant contributor.
Ending on 8 November, the event will have exhibition which will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Apart from the exhibition, there will be awards session where more than 50 awards will be given. It will also include conferences and round tables covering verticals like Healthcare, Telecom, Education, Cyber & National security, Green technologies, GIS & Spacial technology and an exclusive round table by the Government of Karnataka on Rural IT Policies as well. A special emphasis will be made on manufacturing, with sessions on 'IT manufacturing - Made in India' by MAIT and 'Advantage India- Solar PV' by ISA. Moreover, there will be the 'CEO Conclave', which will see Industry Captains from the ICT Industry as well as IT User Groups and Policy Makers come together on a single platform. They would throw light on the challenges ahead, uncover potential opportunities and discuss the means to achieve exponential growth.
Ensuring the support of the government to the event , Katta Subramanya Naidu, Minister of IT & BT, Excise and BWSSB, Government of Karnataka said, "The Govt. of Karnataka has provided all the necessary assistance to ensure that BangaloreIT.biz is a platform for the IT industry, policy makers and IT users to meet, understand and collaborate. The government is working closely with companies and industry bodies."
