Most Nerve-Racking Global Infra Projects

9. Metro train project, Mumbai:

Mumbai, the financial capital of India is the fourth most populous city in the world with a total metropolitan area population of approximately 20.5 million. The city known for its excellent transportation facilities is all set to add another feather to its cap with the construction of the first ever 11.4 km metro line. But this project which was promised to be completed within its scheduled time, is lagging behind by three years mainly due to engineering difficulties. Though, it failed to finish the entire stretch within a given period, the state government is keen to open the 7-km stretch, from Versova to Airport Road, out of 11.4-km-long Metro passage, in September and to operate fully by the end of this year. This means the Mumbaikars can cover the distance in just 20 minutes which they earlier covered in 90 minutes by road.
