Bangalore: All newly built residential projects look fresh and appealing at first sight. When it comes to buy a safe abode, it is necessary to check beyond the make-up charm. Ensure to check the safety proportion of the project in which you are planning to park your hard earned money. Hence, below is the list of things which you need to check before buying an apartment.

How to judge the quality of construction

When buying an apartment, checking the construction quality is as much important as checking the builder. There are various ways to check on the construction feature such as the quality of materials using for interior designing, architectural pattern, products used for bathroom and electrical fixtures and the way of finishing of windows are amongst others, according to experts, reports Amit Shanbaug of Economic Times.

You can also judge the fault in project if you find any patched up cracks on the exterior wall of the building. Adding to it, low quality paint on doors, walls and windows can also give you an idea about the quality developers offering. "So, cheap paint is evidence that the developer does not feel investing in good paint is important and may have compromised on the quality because the surfaces are not made to last,” said Kishor Pate, Secretary, Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India.

"Other signs to watch out for are small cracks on the walls, creaking or sticking doors and windows, and improperly aligned or uneven floors, say, with bathroom and kitchen tiles," added Pate.
