My thought on education system in India
Education awareness is very good in most parts of our society now. What is lacking is importance to teachers. Except for teacher's day none talks about teachers. Lack of respect, coupled with lack of monetary rewards can shy away people from the profession leading to huge shortage of skilled teachers. This is a huge concern for our society where major chunk of the population is in learning age.

As my contribution, I would like to become an academician one day.
Current Job Description
I joined my current company few months back. The company is in the business of setting up credit bureau infrastructure in emerging markets in Africa & middle-east. Prior to this I had the privilege of being part of a startup team that setup country's first and largest Micro-Finance Credit Bureau that helped curb over-leveraging and reduce debt burden at the lower end of the pyramid. Earlier, I worked for a consulting company for more than 5 years wherein I worked on business analysis and product development in several projects in telecom & media.
Qualities require to be successful
One important quality is genuine interest in business analysis and/or the domain. I have seen developers wanting to move to an analyst role. Nothing wrong with it as long as the intentions are right and if they have the skills. One important attribute for IT-Business Analyst is to be technology agnostic. Another very important attribute is willingness to learn the domain in which the project operates. Because, projects do not operate in vacuum. Projects exist for a reason which must be understood thoroughly by the analyst. In case the outcome of the project is a product, it is important to understand the market in which the product will be sold. Analyst should always keep business benefits of the client and the end-users in mind. This is the key.
My achievements
Worked on India's first and largest MFI Credit Bureau
Initiative taken by professionals to develop a country
For India to become a super-power, our infrastructure projects should be executed very well. We cannot afford to slip. So, young engineers should get into such projects and deliver the goods. We should take leaders like E.Sreedharan as role models and pursue excellence in projects we do. The more socially relevant projects we can execute, the better for the country.
My Strongest Skill
My strongest attributes are integrity and ethical behavior. I made this a priority very early in my career and never compromise. Once, I was asked to work on a project as a substitute for someone without informing the client (operate with alias name). I declined and informed the CEO. Thankfully, the practice was stopped.
I feel that all other skills can be learnt or acquired but basic behavior attributes have to be set right at a very early age and must thank my parents & teachers for imbibing these into me.
Couple of years from now
I am planning to graduate from a pure analyst role into project management.
Upcoming trends
I am presently associated with credit risk management which is closely associated with rating industry that has been hit by recent crisis. This crisis of confidence can be changed only by bringing in more transparency. I foresee banks turning to more data and analytics. Bid data is the future.
