Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
I come from a modest, humble and well educated family. I am married since 2008 and having a happy and cheerful life has always been one of the top values in my life.
Most Important Decisions
One technical decision was to move from software testing to software development. This opened a new world of opportunities for me.
Another important decision was to be loyal to one same company (against the usual trend) which has had long term benefits for me.
Changes in the industry
Companies are investing more in quality and compromising on quality is increasingly unacceptable anymore. This results in investment in better tools and processes.
Points of inflection
I believe shifting to the headquarters of my company has helped me experience and understand the organizational, management and strategic aspects of my organization far better
A Fine Balance:
I raise a flag whenever i am overloaded. On rare occasions, I also spend more hours on the work during my free time at home and weekends. Sometimes you work less sometimes more. I try to get the critical work completed at the earliest, so as to free time and avoid escalations later.
Role Model
My father, since he has been a great leader. He has been one of the rare leaders who have succeeded without advocating the "Indian politics" style of management, leading by example, by inspiration, perspiration and yet at the same time lots of empathy.
Currently working at
I am into a strategic role defining the software security code scan strategy for my company.
Most Important Lessons
Standing up to be counted, delivering as promised, having clear communication skills, leading by example, speaking only when and where it is required, respecting your peers and superiors, team work and empathy are the elements that make a successful professional career
Plans for the Future
I see myself learning and contributing more and more to my company
The Journey So Far
It's been a struggle, within myself and to establish myself, nothing came easy, but I feel I am in the right direction
Current and Previous Responsibilities
Currently I am responsible for part of a strategy, earlier I was responsible for part of a product
