Could you tell us briefly about your family background?

Father: Mr B G Agarwal, a retired Finance, Commerce and Law professional. With Somani Group: Company Secretary & Fin Controller. President of Travancore Chamber of Commerce, and committee member in Cochin Chamber. Wife: MA, M.Phil; used to teach graduate students, now home-maker. 2 children 16+ yrs

Points of inflection

A. The shift from 'Projects & Operations management' in 'Process Industry' to Business Consulting in 'Business Process ReEngineering', for manufacturing. Mar 2000. This was after a 12-yr long and fruitful stint with Aditya Birla group
B. Nov 2009, when I realised that Solar PV was my 'calling'

Am the founder and MD of ARDOR grEEn Solar & Wind Pvt Ltd. We're a Chennai based System Integrator company, mainly in Solar PV Rooftop Systems.
Being a startup, and I being a 1st gen entrepreneur, I don most roles. Am the chief architect, acquire business, do systems design, procure, integrate etc.

Most Important Lessons

A seasoned Business Manager and a strategist, have demonstrated success in P & L management in diverse business. Have rich experience in Process Industry (GreenField Project Management & Operations), ITeS/KPO and BPR Consulting. Since end2009 am an entrepreneur in Solar PV Rooftop Power Systems

Heading this Solar PV venture (or any significant green/renewable energy product / venture) and taking it to heights of success and profitability. Should have a satisfied customer base of 25 persons / businesses; should touch INR 100 crores in turnover

Parting thoughts

If I was not an engineer/corporate animal: I would be a product designer, a photographer, a paraglider, a traveller, a painter, a mountaineer, a pilot, an adventure sports expert, a classical musician or singer etc. How I wish I could clone myself and experience all these. Am a student paraglider
