Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
I come from an educated background. My dad is a retired Government Officer and my mother a homemaker. My sister is an HR manager in Hyderabad and her husband is Zonal Manager in Ranbaxy. I have two grown up kids, my daughter is pursuing BAJMM from Seamedu, Pune and my son has just completed his 12th
Required Reading:
There are no specific books, websites or publications a such. I go through lot of books and websites to update my knowledge and I also share my experience in training with my fellow trainers to improve my knowledge as I believe that training comes a lot from experience.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
As a trainer my accomplishments are the job satisfaction I get after training the trainees and the respect I get from them even after years I have trained them.
Plans For The Future:
I see myself as a CEO of my own Training Institute.
Other Thoughts:
A trainer is a trainer and will leave a positive impact on students if he/ she has patience, empathy and willingness to learn new things. The day the trainer disowns any of the above mentioned than that day he / she will cease to be an effective trainer.
Role Model:
My Trainer Mentor for my Train The Trainer Program is my role model. She showed confidence in me and motivated me to be what I am today. I have learned a lot from her and even today I do consult her whenever I am in a fix.
Career Profile:
Currently I am working in a management institute wherein students are from vernacular medium. They are not very comfortable communicating in English and some otherwise as well. As a trainer my responsibility is to groom them to be future managers so that they can communicate effectively.
Job Profile:
I am a communication and life skills trainer in a Management Institute. I groom the students who come from vernacular medium to communicate effectively and introduce them to corporate world by improving their soft skills like Interpersonal Skills, Telephone Etiquette, Business Communication etc.
Advice For New Professionals:
Today the professional have more exposure to the outside world than we had. Anybody who is entering the workforce should enter with zeal and enthusiasm and should put in 100 % in whatever they are doing. They should also have the hunger to learn new things from everyone if they want to succeed.
Working Life Management:
I believe in one thing " Never carry work to home and vice versa"
Growth Strategy:
I am a learner and to be an effective learner I am open to learn from all members of my team and others as well. A good leader is one who moves ahead with his team and treats his team as an extension of himself rather than sit on their heads and make them work like donkey's without appreciating them
The Decisions That Matter
My decision to be a Trainer was the most important Career Decision. I have worked in various fields like insurance, retail etc but my present profile is what gives me job satisfaction and peace of mind.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
Professional Environment is same it hasn't changed the only changes that have happened are the changes in the staff.
The Journey So Far:
Journey in the corporate world has been full of learning's, I have learned from all the situations I have faced whether they were highs or they were lows of the corporate world. In short I can say it has been a learning experience so far.
