Thoughts on Education system of our country
The education system in India, especially at College level has to improve in the sense, that every student passing out of college needs to have an equal opportunity and chance at finding gainful employment. Colleges have to invest in making the students employable. My college (Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore)has recently taken some innovative steps to ensure this, entering into MOUs with companies a and creating centres of excellence within the college itself, where the students can benefit from industry knowledge even before they graduate.
More about myself
I have worked in different capacities in prestigious concerns. I was a consultant for IBM for 18 months before my present assignment.
I am also a martial artist and believe in investing time in fitness and health.
I am an advocate of quality management, specifically Six Sigma, and I believe that it is a truly industry neutral discipline which , if adopted by Indian companies, will take them a long way in being internationally competitive.
Important decision
1. Accepting a job offer , not for the sake of a job, but because I liked it.
2. Studying Six Sigma
3. Compromising on salary for gaining experience.
Initiative to develop a country
Every conscientious professional will come across a vast body of knowledge that he or she will gain in the course of their respective profession. Sharing this knowledge and empowering other people to benefit and excel because of this shared knowledge should be something each professional must dedicate at least a few hours a week of their time to.
